The Rabbit Hole Sessions

If you have found this website, there’s a good chance you know me.  What you may not know is that I’ve spent most of my life playing guitar and writing songs.  Other than a very brief fling as a Nashville songwriter and the occasional gig or jam, the songs I write and the hours I’ve spent with a guitar on my lap have mostly been a private meditation.

For my 5th birthday I received a ukulele and proceeded to obsessively teach myself to play.  As soon as I was big enough to hold one, I transition to guitar, and the obsession grew.  My conservative estimate is that I’ve had a guitar on my lap for at least 50,000 hours of my life.  That’s a lot of meditating.

The songs on this album were written over the course of the last 30 years and span from the time I was a young father to my current condition- old man.

This project exists because, when I asked my daughter Madeleine (who was born on my birthday) what she wanted for her birthday, she replied without hesitation: “ I want you to record some of your songs.”  That request came several years ago. This project took way too long to finish, but here it is.  I am so grateful that she made the request.  The gift she asked for was a gift she gave to me.
